Description
A pewter spoon from the English slave ship Henrietta Marie, wrecked near Key West, Florida in 1700. The spoon is 18 cm long, and the trifid handle-top bears the profile of King William III. Cast scroll work runs down the handle and covers the back of the bowl. The spoon was part of a cargo intended to be traded for captive African people.
